She Tried It – Tengo Sed Cantina

Tengo Sed Cantina offers a cool, eclectic hangout with great Mexican food, a lively atmosphere and disarmingly good margaritas. A new collaborative partnership with local chef/restaurant owner Patrick Ryan, Tengo Sed Cantina brings a lighter, fresher take on classic Mexican food focusing on coastal cuisine from the Baja region and southern California; an innovative approach to classic beach street food made with the freshest available ingredients. The craft cocktail focuses on creative interpretations of traditional tequila drinks, including the margarita and the Paloma, a grapefruit based sparkling tequila cocktail. Enjoy the indoor/outdoor atmosphere with dual garage-door windows on the East & West sides of the venue as well as the perfect patio for happy hour. (c/o Tengo Sed Cantina)

I am excited to bring you my favorite part.. The Menu.

The Chicharrones are housemade fresh to order and were still popping when delivered to the table. (Now that’s fresh) The flavor was very unique with a ranch undertone and seemed to become spicier in flavor as they cooled off.

Pork Chimichagna with Green Sauce (House Special)

The “Pork” Chimichanga was excelllent! The shredded pork simmered in garlic and other spices to form a amazing flavor. The green chile sauce – although appears to look like pea puree’ is excellent by itself or when paired with the chimichanga. The chimichagna is so good, it’s a house special and can be ordered in chicken or beef as well depending on the day.

Dulce de Leche ice cream and mini cheesecake with sweet cream and mint, along with apple filled churros.

This dessert was not only beautiful in presentation, but it was the trio of desserts seamlessly invoked unique flavors from one dessert to the next. And if your question is, Did you really eat all of the desserts the answer is “Yes!”.

Please be sure to visit Tengo Sed Cantina in the Power and Light District for a electic atmosphere with an authentic mexican food experience.

Special Thanks to my new Assistant to Editor – Lisa for covering for Tengo Sed Cantina in my absence. I am so blessed to have you apart of my team.
