Kansas City is one of the best places to find one of a kind food experiences in the Midwest. But did you know Springfield located just shy of three hours away from Kansas City hosts some seriously addictive eateries as well? On a recent trip to Springfield, I got my culinary taste buds in order as I traveled the city in search of food paradises.
Here is one of the best places to dine while in Springfield:
The Order restaurant located inside the luxurious Hotel Vandivort in Downtown Springfield. The restaurant boasts an upscale cuisine in a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere. The majority of the food sourced locally from surrounding farms, which explains why each bite tastes fresh. You’ll find the curated menu by Chef Zachary White to be straightforward and delightful.
Little Something, Something: Cashew Chicken Skewers – Springfield is the birthplace of Cashew Chicken a famous Chinese dish. The Order recreated this classic into a delectable appetizer rendition. My Bacon, Onion, and Goat Cheese Rangoon with blackberry fig sauce was my personal favorite, imagine a new twist on the classic crab rangoon. This appetizer will leave you craving more.
Shrubbery: The Super Kale Salad is just that “super” delicious created with kale, fresh berries, apples, pecans, beet chips topped with apple vinaigrette. I’ve never been a fan of kale until now. Kale which is very bitter complimented by the berries and apples create a salad that is not only delicious but well balanced.
Signature Entrees such as Diver Sea Scallops, All-Natural Crispy Skin Chicken, and Seared Duck Breast. The Diver Scallops seared to perfection while gently seasoned with salt and pepper, the Crispy Skin Chicken although not your typical crispy fried chicken this version is out right divine. Lastly, the seared duck breast was an equal flavor contender. Psst, the secret to ordering duck breast is to order it slightly undercooked.
