It was day two of our Branson family trip, here is how we spent day two:
We visited Branson’s most famous and oldest amazement parks Silver Dollar City. I remember visiting Silver Dollar City when I was a child it was musical. Today’s Silver Dollar City is just as magical with updated park rides and attractions. My youngest daughter went on her first big rollercoaster called the PowderKeg (which goes from zero to 65 mph in only a few seconds) and let’s just stay we will stick on the kiddie rides for her. My oldest child and husband absolutely loved it! We also rode the Lazy River which was a water ride that was fun and slightly scary at the same time. Warning! You will leave extremely wet from this water ride. Along with another the American Plunge, where you travel on a log and go down a huge plunge.
One of the best things about Silver Dollar City was the park food. The corn dogs are as long as your forearm or the skillet bowls which consisted of sausage, potatoes, and vegetables. Don’t let me get started on the funnel cakes. You have a selection of three to choose from 1) Funnel Cake with chocolate, caramel, sea salt, topped with powdered sugar. 2) Red Velvet Funnel Cake with cream cheese icing topped with powdered sugar. 3) The original Funnel Cake with powdered sugar.
Don’t want to walk around the park only to find out there is a long line waiting? There is an app for that. Silver Dollar City has an app to see wait time on all of the rides. If you are parent this app is a must!
Later on that evening, we went to see Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. Dixie Stampede recedes in a massive mansion. The preshow included an entertainer who was pure comedy. After the preshow, everyone corralled into the main area. The show included 32 magnificent horse, trained doves, and more. The basis of the show was friendly competition between the North and South, horse riding stunts at top speeds, spectacular special effects, and phenomenal musical productions. Throughout the show, you are treated to a healthy four course meal, but there is just one thing – there’s no silver ware. At first, its quite weird to eat without silverware, but after the first bite I begin to think “silverware is so played, who needs it anyway”.
All in All the Dixie Stampede is a high energy family filled show that will not disappoint. My children were on the edge of their seats the whole show.
