Motivation Monday’s

If you’re not following me on Instagram, then you’re not aware of the secret I’ve been keeping from you. I wanted to wait until Motivation Monday to share it with you. Last week, My husband and I had the opportunity to participate in a KC Glow 5K run. My husband exercises regularly and running the whole race was fun to him. I on the other hand was an absolute wreck, I was so nervous. To be honest, I have not regularly exercised in quite sometime. So, I assume I would be the one past out on the side of the pavement.

 

I started the race with a light job, but after a half mile of jogging. I decided walking would be the best option for me. I walked while my husband ran ahead. I caught up with him after the first glow station. He laughed that he waited for a while for me to meet up with him.

Throughout the race I experienced a influx of emotions; I was scared, nervous, and excited. While walking/jogging, my legs started to hurt, stomached cramped, and I wanted to quit. But I kept going and eventually I finished! When I crossed the finished line, I felt a great sense of accomplishment and thought why haven’t I done this before. What was I so scared of? I did this. The next morning, I woke up and told my husband I wanted to go for a run.

I learned that fear can paralyze you. Fear will tell you you’re not enough, you’re not worthy, and you cant. When I crossed the finished line, I told fear to kiss my ASS. Whatever, You are fearful of that is holding you back – Tell that fear to kiss your ASS! You can do it!
