Spring is officially here and with it brings a sense of renewal. Just like the seasons renew themselves so must we. It’s time to renew our wardrobes this Spring, one of the hottest trends this season is floral print. Yes, those floral print dresses our mom used to dress us in for church as kids are back!  We all want to be on trend, we just don’t want to go broke while doing so.  So I’ve created a few affordable quick tips to add floral pieces to your closet.
  1) Shop your local thrift store for floral pieces. Be sure to look for floral dresses, tops, and bottoms. Unlike shopping in department stores where you can easily blow your budget.  You can easily find them via thrift for under $9.99.
 2) Check out your favorite style bloggers for inspiration. Here are a few of my favorites: Closet Confections, Shiona Turini (Instagram), and Glamazons blog.
 3) It’s easy to mix floral prints into your wardrobe when you know the secret! So what is the secret? Well… As long as your prints and complimenting pattern is in the same color family then it will style perfectly. Take my style for instance, the dress is the focal point and the gingham shirt compliments the floral print with the same color (pink). Another secret is to wear one bold floral print item, then tone down everything else with matching colors.

Remember: Spring brings on renewal so be sure to use the tips above and update your style this season. I’m dressed head to toe in thrift – total cost $16.

I love your cute floral dress! I’m all about layers this spring so I’m feeling how you put the blouse underneath the dress. Super cute look!

      Jay,

Start off with small floral prints. The easier way to incorporate floral is to pair it with a solid color.
