Nestle on the edge of the Power and Light District in downtown Kansas City, Mo emerges a new restaurant. It’s located on the corner of 14th and Main, BRGR Kitchen + Bar is going to set the restaurant and bar scene ablaze. It’s eclectic and industrial vibes are throughout the restaurant including the awesome (non) segregated women and men’s restaurant. Which should make for some interesting late nights.
I received an invitation to attend the private pre-opening event last night, which included a signature cocktail called B-Cup. Which I overheard includes vodka, lemon juice, grapefruit and simple syrup for those of you who wanted to know. I spoke with one of the six managers who told me, “We only have 8 beers on tap, the rest of which are in cans which makes them very affordable”. If you are looking to unwind and grab a super cold on with your buds or chickadee’s this is the new “IT” spot.
Ok, Now to my favorite part…The “Food”. The attendees were treated to everything from fried macaroni balls to pig wings. When the waitress asked if I would like a pig wing, I scuffed.. “No, Thank you”. But after seeing the tray pass by myself a few times and seeing it become smaller and smaller in quantity. I gave in to the swine and said, “Excuse, me..May I try one of those?” BRGR’s Pig wing is the pork version of a chicken wing only pork. It’s still on a bone, not fried from what I gather and had the most delicious sauce. May I also suggest you try my personal favorite the “Truffle Tots”.
Lastly, The staff at BRGR are not only very knowledgeable, outgoing, and super nice. But they are all… “Very Nice Looking”. Whoever did the hiring had everyone in mind, You are guaranteed to see something you like in the restaurant and I’m not talking about the decor.
If you are looking for a “new” place to unwind, relax, and see some eye candy in the process. Check out BRGR Kitchen + Bar.
