Seasons 52 Fresh Grill located in the heart of the historic Country Club Plaza, rounded off as the last restaurant stop for Chelsea with Whatchamakinnow and I visited for Kansas City Restaurant Week. Seasons 52 has a beautiful outdoor patio including courtyard. They also host a private rooms for events. The modern yet rustic interior is sure to please the masses, perfect enough to close a business deal and intimate enough for that special someone. With an open kitchen within view distance from the dining room, you can not only see your food being prepared but the seamless flow of the chefs and kitchen staff as well.
For my first course Chelsea and I shared the All Natural Pepperoni flat bread – this flat bread exceeded my expectations, it was so good.
For my second course, I selected the Spinach and Caramelized Bosc Pear salad. This spinach salad included toasted walnuts, gorgonzola, and sherry-walnut vinaigrette. I love a good spinach salad and this one was perhaps one of the best ones I had in a long time. The slightly caramelized pear gave the tart gorgonzola cheese the perfect balance.
For my third course, I selected Southern Style Shrimp and Grits. This amazing dish consisted of sautéed shrimp, chorizo, bacon, stone ground cheddar grits. This was perhaps my favorite dish from Restaurant Week, the shrimp were huge, and the chorizo gave this dish a slight kick of smoky heat. I could definitely eat this dish at least once per week.
For the finale, you are offered a chance to select two mini decadent dessert options. Our serve brought us a tray of gorgeous desserts to the table, it was like being showered with gifts. I selected the Pecan Pie and the Lemon Meringue Pie, I wanted something sweet and a little tart.
