Have you heard of IKEA? IKEA is a Swedish company that makes quality products at affordable prices. I was so excited when I discovered they were coming to Kansas. Currently, the only major furniture retail store is Nebraska Furniture Mart. I’ve bought several items from Nebraska Furniture Mart such as a dining room set, washer, and dryer. Now that IKEA’s opening is just around the corner, I can now be exposed to brands that I would normally not have access to.
I was invited to the “pre-opening” media event at IKEA Preview Merriam, KS. I wanted to attend, but due to my current work schedule wasn’t able to do so. Luckily, I had a wonderful friend and husband also attended in my absence. I felt so appreciative that he took pictures and networked for me as well. Now, with his birthday this coming weekend I am planning something very special f or him.
Are you a parent that would love to shop, but have no where to drop off the kiddos? No problem! IKEA has a children’s care area.
Are your hands full? No at problem! IKEA has lockers to safely tuck away your items, Thus giving you more room to shop.

Giveaways on 9/10/14
- The first 40 adults in line will receive a free sofa.
- The next 100 adults will receive a free arm chair.
- The first 100 children will receive a free toy.
- The first 2,500 people to visit the IKEA Merriam store on 9/10/14; will receive a random prize envelope with a gift card ranging from $10 – $250 or a voucher for a Buy One, Get One free food item from the Bistro.
- If you “birthday is on 9/10/14, you will receive a $40 gift card.
Giveaways on 9/11/14
- The first 40 adults will receive a free queen size mattress.
- The next 10 adults will receive free home delivery for their purchases on that day.
Giveaways on 9/12/14
- The first 40 adults will receive free meatballs for a year, (Which is a year’s worth of monthly meatball dinners for the family).
- The next 40 adults will receive an IKEA food tote bag & voucher to fill up with whatever food items you can fit from the IKEA food market.
- 100 children will receive a free frozen yogurt from the bistro.
- Visitors from 9/10/14-9/14/14 will have the opportunity to win 10 gift cards valued at $1,000, just by participating in the IKEA family loyalty plan.
